Life is like the weather.
Always changing.

When a storm rolls in and my electricity shuts off, the very first thing I do is peek out my window. Not to assess the strength of the wind or the heaviness of the rain, but to figure out what’s happening at my neighbor’s house. The moment I see their lights out, I feel lighter. I know I’m not alone.

That’s what I hope to offer my therapy clients. A feeling that they have someone to share the bad weather with. Because no matter who we are, sometimes life is stormy.

Family Matters

Once we look at ourselves in the context of our families, so much makes sense. That’s why I chose to study marriage and family therapy—to see things through a systems perspective. I like to help my clients move away from “I feel like I’m crazy” to “I guess that seems right based on how I grew up.” I’ve seen, and felt, how freeing this experience can be!

My Background

I’m lucky enough to use both of my degrees—a bachelor’s in Journalism from Penn State and a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from LaSalle University. Besides seeing clients on my own, I was an outpatient therapist at Lenape Valley Foundation for 11 years. And I’ve spent 30 years writing advertising materials, mostly for patients coping with chronic conditions.

Weathering the changes

Change comes in all sizes. The big ones, like becoming a parent, changing genders, dealing with a serious health issue or losing a loved one, can be filled with emotion. But smaller transitions—going to a new school or starting a new job—take some adjustment, too. Sometimes we can’t define the change that’s happening to us, but we know we feel unsettled. No matter which kind of transition you’re going through, I’d love to be there to help you through it.
